Our discipline is sourcing, validating and presenting authoritative data clearly — which is exactly what serious suburb research demands.

Our rankings are produced by a transparent, reproducible scoring methodology rather than editorial opinion or paid placement. For each suburb we geocode its location, then measure the straight-line distance to the nearest relevant facility for every criterion you select — schools by sector, hospitals, train stations, supermarkets, universities, airports and the nearest capital-city CBD. Facility locations are drawn from Australian government open data and open geospatial datasets such as OpenStreetMap. Each criterion is scored from 0 to 100 by proximity, combined using the weighting you assign, and blended with affordability where you set a budget. Suburbs are then ranked from highest to lowest overall score.

We deliberately avoid subjective "reputation" ratings and sponsored listings. Some details — such as a school's sector or a suburb's median price — may be derived or estimated from the best available data and are presented as indicative. Where a criterion can't be matched to available data, we flag it as unavailable rather than presenting it as a confirmed result — because a property decision is only as sound as the data behind it.
